Emperor Bifold Hardware

Premium bifold hardware engineered for strength, smooth operation and a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

Traffic Door Handle

Traffic Door Handle

If your chosen configuration includes a traffic door, it will be fitted with an industry standard lever-lever handle. Designed for ease of use, it provides quick and convenient access from both inside and outside.

Each handle is fitted with a high security cylinder and operates a multi-point locking system for enhanced protection.

Finishes: Available in a range of colours or can be colour matched to the door.

Intermediate Handles

Intermediate Handles

Flush-line intermediate handles are recessed into the sash profile to create a clean, minimal appearance and allow tight stacking of panels.

Strong and practical, they enable easy operation of the doors without the need for additional pull handles, while driving heavy-duty shoot bolt locking with key locking as standard.

Finishes: Available in multiple finishes or colour matched to the door.

Concealed Hinges

Concealed Hinges

Emperor bifold doors feature cleverly engineered concealed hinges, hidden within the door leaf when closed to maintain uninterrupted sightlines.

This design delivers a clean, modern aesthetic while maintaining strength and durability.

Hinges are concealed when closed and are supplied in black.

Track and Bogey Wheels

Track & Bogey Wheels

Stainless steel four-wheel bogie assemblies run on twin stainless steel tracks, delivering smooth, stable and effortless operation.

Designed to support the full weight of the doors, they include a guide system within the outer frame for enhanced stability and security.

Supplied in black to complement the hinge system.

Traffic Door Buffer Magnets

Traffic Door Buffer Magnets

Buffer magnets are fitted where required to hold the traffic door securely against the adjacent panel when open.

They also prevent handles from striking neighbouring panels and help control the door in windy conditions.

Available in a range of finishes. Painted finishes are not recommended due to reduced durability.

What Is a Traffic Door?

A traffic door provides quick everyday access without needing to open the full set of bifold panels.

Where a traffic door is not included, multiple panels must be opened to gain access.

Bifold doors operate in pairs, meaning an odd panel can function independently — this is known as a traffic door.

Built For Security Without Compromise

Emperor bifold doors have been designed and manufactured with security in mind, combining robust hardware, secure glazing and dependable locking points to help keep your home safe and secure every day.

Six key security features working together

When anyone has new windows or doors installed in their home, security is almost always one of their main priorities. That is why all of our doors have been designed and manufactured with security in mind, giving excellent security without compromise.

From high security multipoint locking and superior cylinders through to internally glazed units and anti-jemmy bogie guidance, every detail has been developed to help keep the system safe, secure and dependable.

  • High security multi-point locking
  • Superior locking cylinder
  • Key locking intermediate handles
  • Heavy duty shootbolts
  • Dedicated bogie assembly guide
  • High security glazing

High Security Multi-point Locking
01

High Security Multi-point Locking

Traffic doors allow for outside access and as a result need to be highly secure. Traffic doors are fitted with the latest high security multipoint locking as standard. The locking mechanism is operated by a lever-lever handle and has a total of six locking points, including deep throw hook locks, a latch, dead bolt and adjustable roller cams that pull the doors in tight and provide excellent weathering.

High Security Superior Locking Cylinder
02

High Security Superior Locking Cylinder

The weakest point of a locking system is often the locking cylinder, which is why these doors use more than a standard euro cylinder. The cylinder is pick resistant, bump resistant and drill resistant, and includes a sacrificial break slot to help it remain more secure in the event of being snapped.

Key Locking Intermediate Handles
03

Key Locking Intermediate Handles

Although intermediate handles are generally positioned internally, they include a key locking facility as standard for added peace of mind. This is particularly useful on bifold configurations without a traffic door. Intermediate handle cylinders can also be keyed alike so that one key can operate every intermediate handle on the bifold.

Heavy Duty Shootbolts
04

Heavy Duty Shootbolts

Heavy duty shoot bolts secure the door at the top and bottom of each intermediate panel. Each set of shoot bolts is operated by rotating the Flush-line handle 360°. They are designed to provide a tight fit for maximum compression and smooth engagement when securing the panels into the outerframe, helping create a solid barrier against forced entry.

Dedicated Bogie Assembly Guide
05

Dedicated Bogie Assembly Guide

The bogie wheel assemblies have a dedicated guide that runs inside the channel of the outerframe at the top and bottom of the doors. This guide gives the doors additional strength and stability, while also providing anti-jemmy security to help prevent the folding panels from being forced or levered off the track.

High Security Glazing
06

High Security Glazing

These bifold doors are internally glazed using a high security glazing bead and wedge gasket. Because the sealed units are installed from the inside, they can only be removed from within the property. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard, with laminated security glass also available as an upgrade.
