Our Continental folding doors create an open, flexible, modern space for both living and working environments. They were designed with the input of Belgian expertise, as well as our own extensive experience in bifold doors. We believe that this system is one of the best all round bi-folding door systems on the market. They are strong, secure and thermally efficient. This door system can achieve wide and tall doors panels, this results in less panels in wider doors and therefore more glass, more light and less frame.

Unlike ordinary sliding patio doors, bi-folding doors give over a 90% clear opening. The opening creates extra room for entertaining and lets the outside in. We are able to produce these folding sliding doors in many different configurations in order to make the panels slide and fold away to an unused part of your garden or room. We can manufacture doors with between two and seven panels as standard.
Our Continental Bifolding doors fold open and slide away into a tight stack. The neat stacks can be right, left or split between right and left to an unused part of your garden or room. The ability to fold back upto ten panels for over a 90% opening is one of the biggest draws of bifolding doors.
You can have almost any glass you wish in your Bi-folding doors. They can be supplied glazed or unglazed for 28mm sealed units. Low E, Argon gas filled sealed units, 1.2 centre pane value, toughened safety glass as standard.
For example; clear toughened safety glass, self cleaning glass and solar control glass, laminated glass, anti-sun, georgian bars and integrated blinds inside the sealed units.
Heavy duty shoot bolts secure the door between each intermediate panel (each operated by a pop-out T-handle). They are specially designed to fit exactly into the outerframe, tightly securing the doors inplace. The shootbolts are top and bottom of each intermediate panel, protecting the doors against forced entry.
The pop-out T-handles on the Continental Bifolding Doors on each intermediate panel operate the shootbolts between each interlock. They are clean and simple making them very asthetically pleasing and giving the doors character and sets them apart from other bifolds.
They have a key locking facility for added security and come in a range of colours.
Our Continental Folding doors run on four wheel bogie assemblies that travel on twin stainless steel tracks, resulting in easy graceful operation.
These high strength rollers exceed the required weight factors, so that no matter what the weight of the doors you still get the same easy-side action, for which Duration's bifolds are known.
Being manufactured from aluminium means that the profiles can be made very slim, with out compromising the strength of the Bi-folding doors. This not only looks much more aesthetically pleasing, but allows you to maximise the glass area, letting in more light.
The meeting stiles are just 140mm and each leaf is just 64mm wide.
With our Continental Bifolding Doors you can choose the colours of your handles, hinges, gaskest and spacerbars, to completly colour customise your doors.
A traffic door allows quick and easy access through your Bi-folding Doors from the inside and outside, operating independently of the folding panels, much like a standard residential door.
As such it uses a standard Lever Lever handle. The highly functional design of this handle means that it is pretty much an industry standard door handle and can be found on most all residential and commercial doors.
All traffic doors come with this high security anti-bump locking cylinder as standard. This high security snap secure cylinder, is pick resistant, bump resistant and drill resistant.
It passes PAS024 testing without the need for security handles or cylinder guards. The locking cylinder provides the highest levels of security demanded by the BSI giving you added peace of mind for no additional cost.
There are three low threshold options for our Continental Folding Doors, a 22mm room divider threshold (internal use only), a 34mm thermally broken low threshold and a 34mm thermal broken ramped low threhold, which is unique to Duration Windows.
The ramped low threshold makes adhering to Part M (wheel chair access) of the building regulations easy and is perfect for keeping flush floor levels from outside to inside across decking.
Our Continental Folding Doors combine sophisticated style and elegance with the very latest in high performance and high quality hardware. Robust, strong and built to last our hardware exceeds required weight requirements and will provide you with a smooth easy-glide opening action for years to come.
These high quality and high strength bogie wheel assemblies run on twin stainless steel tracks and have been tested to take over 200kg in weight, more than three time the weight of the doors. This results in a smooth easy-glide opening action for years to come. With dedicated bogie guides for added stability and security.
Designed in collaboration with Durations technical designers, these slim-line and aesthetically pleasing, pop-out T-handles are featured on each intermediate panel. Driving shoot bolt locking, the pop-out T-handles are on the inside of the door only, and therefore cannot be operated from the outside.
A traffic door allows quick and easy access from the inside and outside of your bifolding doors, without having to slide and fold any panels. Just as you would have with a conventional back door. If your chosen style does not allow for a traffic door, you will have no outside access and at least two panels must be folded to open the doors.
Bi-folding doors slide in two's, so an uneven number of panels folding in any direction will always result in an odd panel that can operate independently of the sliding panels. This odd (spare) panel is known as a traffic door, and offers quick and easy access from both inside and outside, using a standard lever-lever door handle. Subsequently an even number of panels will result in no traffic door and no outside access.
