Continental Folding Doors Overview

Continental Folding Doors

Continental Folding Doors

Unlike ordinary sliding patio doors, bi-folding doors give over a 90% clear opening. The opening creates extra room for entertaining and lets the outside in. We are able to produce these folding sliding doors in many different configurations in order to make the panels slide and fold away to an unused part of your garden or room. We can manufacture doors with between two and seven panels as standard.

Traffic Door Handles

Continental Folding Doors Traffic Door Handles

A traffic door allows quick and easy access through your Bi-folding Doors from the inside and outside, operating independently of the folding panels, much like a standard residential door.

As such it uses a standard Lever Lever handle. The highly functional design of this handle means that it is pretty much an industry standard door handle and can be found on most all residential and commercial doors.

High Strength Traffic Door Buffer Magnets

What Is A Traffic Door? - How Do I Get Inside And Outside Access?

A traffic door allows quick and easy access from the inside and outside of your bifolding doors, without having to slide and fold any panels. Just as you would have with a conventional back door. If your chosen style does not allow for a traffic door, you will have no outside access and at least two panels must be folded to open the doors.

Bi-folding doors slide in two's, so an uneven number of panels folding in any direction will always result in an odd panel that can operate independently of the sliding panels. This odd (spare) panel is known as a traffic door, and offers quick and easy access from both inside and outside, using a standard lever-lever door handle. Subsequently an even number of panels will result in no traffic door and no outside access.
