Lift Out Aluminium Secondary Glazing
Secondary glazing is designed to reduce noise and cut heat loss by adding another window inside and in addition to your existing external windows. It is easy to fit and is cost effective and is very popular in conservation areas where the existing external windows cannot be changed. It is ideal near busy roads, airports, train lines or where your existing windows are draughty. Even if you have double glazing already you may still find a useful improvement by fitting secondary glazing.
Our lift out secondary glazing can be from 300mm to 1200mm wide and between 300mm and 1600mm high. The removable panels hold a single pane of glass which allows for easy cleaning of the existing window. Both economy and subframe systems have pre-drilled holes, which simplifies installation. There are a couple of different subframe options, such as economy, SF1 and SF3. The lift out secondary system has very slim site lines which help the secondary unit go unnoticed behind the existing window. The woolpile on the back of the unit helps create an excellent seal onto the existing window, which will help prevent a draught and helps to block sound out. The Secondary Glazing comes in three standard colours which include white, brown and silver. Optionally we can also paint the aluminium any RAL colour. The lift out unit comes with a choice trims.
The removable panel has a finger rail at the bottom to assist in lifting the panel out and if the unit is required to be over 1400mm high then we install retaining clips to stop the panel from bowing.
A very popular use for this lift out system is to have a flyscreen panel as well as a glass panel so that you can have the window open in the summer and not have to worry about fly's getting into your home.
Did you know that calls to NHS Direct regarding mosquito bites have increased 28% in August compared to last year? When thinking about secondary glazing ask if you can also have a flyscreen fitted.
