At Duration Windows we believe that the best way to make sure that every single one of our bifold doors leaves our factory in an excellent working order, is to check them thoroughly. Each bifold door that leaves our factory is checked by our Quality Control area and some of the checks are detailed below.
Firstly we mount the bifold door on a purpose-made jig. The doors are checked for square, then each of the panels are checked for tolerances and correct operation.
The dimensions are checked against the manufacturing details, then the gaps between each panel are checked. It is essential that the gaps are 11mm to prevent the door leafs binding.
All the mitre cuts are surveyed to ensure they are clean and smooth. Poor mitres are noticable and may allow allow water ingress.
Handles are checked for quality of finish and operation. The keys are used to check lock operation for smoothness.
Once the doors have been checked and compared to the worksheet (shown in pic on left) it gets a green "PASS" stamp and is signed off by quality control.
Now that this door has passed quality control it will be wrapped up in several layers of bubble wrap and packing tape ready for delivery to our customer.
