Anti-ligature Handles
An anti-ligature handles are designed specifically to help address the health and safety aspects of people in public buildings. For example schools, hospitals mental health services, prisons and public buildings. Our patented anti-ligature handle is called the Chelton® Modern Handle and is part of our Chelton® range of handles.
Our Chelton Slim-line handles fit directly into the window bead and are therefore profile specific and can only be fitted into specially designed window vents. Our Chelton® Modern Handles are currently available on Smarts Systems windows and Blyweert Beaufort Windows system.

What Is Anti-ligature?
In mental health hospitals and services, as well as other health and social care services it is a requirement that every actions necessary should be taken to prevent accidental and self harm. This includes the implementation of anti-ligature structures, which would help to prevent suicide and death by hanging. This includes anti-ligature coat hooks, curtain rails and window and door handles. New regulations are coming into force that will mean that all schools and hospitals will soon also be required to incorporate anti-ligature handles throughout their premises.
