Hinged Aluminium Secondary Glazing

Our hinged secondary glazing can either be butt hinged, friction hinged or parallel friction hinged, each has it own advantages and disadvantages. Generally hinged secondary glazing lends itself to use in hard to treat areas such as bay windows and other specialist applications. It is ideal for large glass areas where quick and easy regular access is required. i.e. for maintenance, ventilation or cleaning.

Butt hinged units open to around 150° giving a large clear opening for full access to the existing windows. Friction hinged units open to around 65° providing a large opening. The friction hinges allow the panel to be held in any given position between it’s maximum and minimum opening, regulating ventilation. Parallel hinged or PIP™ secondary provides a restricted opening for controlled, secure ventilation. Hinged and Lift Out units can be combined for specialist applications.

Opens to approximately 65°, providing a large opening.
Can be held open to any given angle between the maximum and minimum for controlled ventilation.
Can either be top hung or side hung.
The hinged unit is secured shut using locking catches for added security.
Slim, Discreet and unobtrusive frames; Jamb is just 70 - 77mm.
Ideal for use in listed buildings and conservation areas.
Is equally at home in commercial or domestic applications.
Can take single glazed units up to 6.8mm.
Variety of glass types are available to tailor our secondary to your individual requirements; be it heat, noise or security that is your priority.
Available in any of over 200 different RAL colours.

		Economy Odd Leg System - slim-line face fix. Fixed through an aluminium flange, it is quick and easy to install Our most affordable system. Can be secured shut using a lockable catch for added security.
		Luxury Subframe System - slim-line face fix or reveal fix. Has a wooden subframe and trims for a clean and attractive finish. Can be secured shut using a lockable catch for added security. Our most aesthetically pleasing system.
		Heavy Duty System - reveal fix. The thicker frames can take double glazed sealed units. Can achieve larger maximum widths & heights. See technical tab Can be secured shut using a lockable catch.
