This aluminium window system is the perfect solution for the replacement of existing old putty glazed steel windows. Designed to replicate the appearance and slim sightlines of traditional putty glazed steel windows, whilst offering superior security, weather and thermal performances. They use the latest ‘Polyamide’ thermal break barrier technology, and double glazed gas filled sealed units to achieve U values as low as 1.3.
These windows can be fitted into original or new timber frames or direct to brick. The 45° angled putty line design replicates old putty glazed steel windows, and will maintain the character of your property. Finishing touches such as optional welded corners complete the look. This system is suitable for new build as well as replacement or refurbishment projects, for use in listed buildings and conservation areas.

Handle Options
For our Heritage Putty Line Windows we offer our Chelton® Handle Range. A comprehensive selection of handles that aims to meet the needs of any home. The handles are all our own designs and are currently exclusive to Duration Windows. The Chelton® Handle Range includes, a period Monkey Tail handle, a traditional steel window handle and our contemporary slim-line handle. Our Chelton® Handle Range is fitted directly into the bead with concealed handle fixings. This makes the handles more resistant to physical attack, and impossible to remove without first de-glaze the window.
Chelton® Period Monkey Tail Handle
These handles are modeled on period ironmongery of the early 20th century, giving your windows a classic look and feel. Handles are available in black and white.

Chelton® Modern Slim-line Handle
The contemporary design of these handles is slim and discreet, elegant lines blending into the window. They do not stick out into the glass sight-lines and have anti-ligature aspects. Allow your windows to have an authentic looking exterior, with a modern handle on the inside that is more in keeping with modern furniture and contemporary decor. Hinges
Heritage Putty Line Windows come with friction hinges and optional dummy butt hinges for a more authentic look. The friction hinges allow you to keep your window open in any given position without the need for a Peg & Stay. Dummy butt hinges give the appearance of working butt hinges, without the cleaning and safety considerations, or working butt hinges.
